It was time for another New York trip this summer so I waisted no time packing my bags and boarding my flight to JFK. One of the first things I did was head straight to the top of the Empire State Building. As always the views of the city are spectacular and if you get to the observation deck around sunset its even more magical.

For those that have never been, the ESB has two observation decks. The main deck takes you to the 86th floor (my favorite) and the top deck takes you to the (enclosed) 102nd floor. On the main deck I enjoy looking through the high-powered binoculars that takes you up close and personal with the many skyscrapers that take up residency in the city. From the ESB you can see one-of-a-kind views of Central Park, The Hudson River and East River, The Brooklyn Bridge, Times Square, The Statue of Liberty, and much more.

Afterwards my family and I headed towards the Theater District to grab some dinner at Carmine’s “NYC’s legendary family style Italian restaurant”. The food was delicious, the service was fast and the ambiance was very enjoyable. I’d recommend trying out Carmine’s at least once in the city at their Theater District or Upper West Side location. Finally with full bellies and smiles we ended the night by going on a night tour to Brooklyn.
