As we eagerly await our wedding in November 2024, Bobby and I decided to celebrate our engagement with a beautiful fall-themed engagement party. As we’ve chosen a longer engagement period to prepare for our winter wedding, we decided to commemorate the proposal with our closest family members from across the country, knowing that we might not have the chance to see them again until our wedding day. Hosted by my parents – it was an occasion filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories, made even more special by the incredible support of our family and friends. Not to mention the tremendous help of my parents, siblings and Bobby’s family that helped set everything up and make the day fun for us. We owe a big part of the event’s charm to Solino Home, who provided the exquisite tablescape and linens that helped bring our vision to life – more on that below!

Setting the Stage: Solino Home’s Touch of Elegance
From the moment our guests arrived, they were greeted by the warm and inviting ambiance of the Solino Home Pumpkin Patch napkins and Fete natural tablecloths. These elegant linens set the perfect tone for our fall celebration, creating an atmosphere that was both cozy and stylish. Working with Solino Home was a pleasure, and their attention to detail truly enhanced the overall experience.
Our long family-style table was adorned with an array of fall decor, including wooden candlestick holders, garlands, wreaths, pumpkins, acorns, and pinecones. These rustic elements blended harmoniously with glassware vases filled with flowers, adding a touch of natural beauty to the tablescape. It was a setting that captured the essence of the season and made everyone feel right at home.
A Feast to Remember: Food and Desserts
No celebration is complete without delicious food, and we were fortunate to have Publix catering provide a delicious charcuterie spread. Our guests indulged in an assortment of snacks, cheeses, crackers, fruits, dips and more. To showcase some local flavors, we also had the pleasure of serving up the best barbecue in the state (in our opinion), catered by Moe’s BBQ, which our out-of-town guests couldn’t get enough of.
For dessert, we had a yummy assortment that included a two-tiered chocolate buttercream cake and custom fall-themed cookies. The cookies featured adorable pumpkins, engagement rings, and a special moose-shaped cookie, paying tribute to Bobby in a fun and unique way for his love of Alaska and animals (Moose especially). Underground Custom Cakes truly outdid themselves, and the treats were as delicious as they were beautiful.

Fun and Games: Getting to Know Us Better
To add some fun and personal touches to our engagement party, we organized three games for our guests. These games aimed to help our loved ones get to know us better as a couple and provided plenty of laughs along the way.
- “Where Have They Traveled”: In this game, guests were presented with photos of Bobby and me from our various travels, and they had to guess where each photo was taken. From Puerto Rico to Scotland to Disney World, our adventures had us globetrotting, and it was a delightful way to share our experiences with our loved ones.
- Questionnaire Game: We prepared a series of questions for everyone to answer about us as a couple. Questions like “Who said I love you first?” and “Where did we meet?” allowed our friends and family to test their knowledge of our relationship and share some fun anecdotes.
- The Shoe Game: For the grand finale, Bobby and I sat back to back and answered questions about ourselves, such as “Who is grumpier in the morning?” The twist was that we couldn’t see each other’s answers, leading to hilarious moments and shared laughter.
A Surprise for Our Bridesmaids
As the evening drew to a close, I had a surprise in store for my girlies. I gathered them together and asked them to be my bridesmaids with heartfelt gift boxes. Each box contained special items, including a handmade picture frame ornament with a cherished photo of us from the past, meant to adorn their Christmas trees. This personal touch was a symbol of our upcoming winter wedding, and it was a joy to create something homemade for my bridesmaids to treasure.

Our fall-themed engagement party was an unforgettable celebration filled with love, laughter, and cherished moments. Solino Home’s beautiful linens and table decor set the stage for a perfect day, and we’re grateful to our family and friends for traveling from across the country to celebrate this special moment in our lives. As we count down to our November 2024 wedding, we’re reminded that the journey is just as important as the destination, and we’re savoring every moment along the way. Can’t wait to start sharing some wedding planning things soon! Stay turned for more.
