Welcome to the Civilian Hotel! Finally giving y’all a tour of this beautiful hotel I stayed at for New York Fashion Week a few weeks ago. I loved getting to stay right in the heart of the theater district with views of the Hudson River and artisan style suites. This hotel was such a hidden treasure and I am so excited I get to give you a little tour around and a code for your next stay.
I adored their broadway style throughout the hotel and the attention to detail in every corner was impeccable. From the wallpaper in the elevators to the antique door knobs the Civilian was nothing shy of luxury. The Civilian Hotel is known for its ties to broadway and has quite the collection of famous broadway play props, costumes and artifacts throughout the building for you to explore!

The room itself was adorned with plush blue velvet seats, a beautiful bathroom with gold finishes and a canopy bed that reminded me of a broadway stage with the drapes hanging from it. I stayed in the cozy room which was complete with vintage details abound – framed archival photographs and a costume trunk-inspired closet. All thoughtfully designed to make the most of this cozy space with smart touches like under-bed storage too which I appreciated because packing for NYFW was not easy.
Again, I loved the ambience of the theater style dressing rooms, with a dramatic color palette through out, rich fabrics and curated artwork and amenities. Aside from the suites the rest of the hotel was a treat in itself. With the 2nd floor lounge (where breakfast is served), the patio/courtyard, the blue room, the cocktail room, a brand new restaurant called the Rosevale and a brand new rooftop bar/lounge called the Starchild coming this fall – there is so much to do at The Civilian Hotel.

Starting off with the Blue Room – I was in such awe when I stepped into this beautiful little space filled with the most unique broadway things. This quant lounge area was amazing and had some of the coolest broadway items like the red knee high boots from the play Kinky Boots, the black witches hat from the play Wicked and even Olaf from the Frozen play. It felt like a little museum within the hotel and I totally geeked out a bit just admiring all these amazing things that make our favorite characters come to life on the big stage.
Meanwhile, just across the hall is the breakfast bar and lounge area which has a smorgas board of muffins, bagels, coffee, parfaits, fruits and cereal for you to choose from every morning. It’s definitely a gourmet version of a continental breakfast at any other ole hotel. This area has a wall of broadway artifacts on display as well for you to gawk at as you enjoy your delicious morning breakfast.
If you’re a broadway fan this is without a doubt the perfect place for you to stay in the city. I can not wait to be back and stay here again! Like I mentioned above The Civilian is adding more amenities at the end of this fall like a rooftop bar/lounge and a full restaurant/dinning experience. I can’t recommend this place enough and had the best stay here while in the city.
I hope you get stay here soon and enjoy this code: SUNDAY to get one Sunday night free when you book 3 nights. Reserve your room here>>
Thank you to The Civilian Hotel for the lovely stay and accommodation.
