As the holiday season approaches, it’s time to start thinking about how to decorate your home to create a cozy and inviting atmosphere for you and your guests. One way to achieve this is by incorporating woodsy elements into your decor, such as pinecones, evergreens, and cozy flannel bedding. Another way is sticking to a traditional theme, such as plaid, gold accents and pops of holiday red. In this blog post, I’ll share how I transformed our home into a woodsy winter traditional Christmas retreat and how you can do the same in your own home.

BEDROOM: I transformed our bedroom into a woodsy winter retreat by incorporating cozy flannel bedding into our holiday decor. The soft and warm texture of the bedding added a touch of rustic charm to the room and made it the perfect place to snuggle up during the winter months here. Also, we added a miniature tall pine tree in the corner with lights which really makes the room feel magical at night especially when we’re watching a Christmas movie.

DINING TABLE: For a cozy and traditional holiday look, I decorated our dining table with a plaid/tartan theme from Solino Home (see more here) and added a woodsy touch with bottle brush Christmas trees and moose plates. The combination of the classic pattern and rustic elements created a warm and inviting atmosphere, perfect for gathering with loved ones and enjoying a festive meal.

DISH CABINET: To bring a touch of holiday magic into our kitchen, I transformed our dish cabinet and mug rack into a charming Christmas village scene by displaying all of our holiday dish sets and festive mugs. By arranging the plates, bowls and mugs in a festive manner, I created a cozy and whimsical display that added a festive spirit to our everyday routine.

ENTRYWAY: For a warm and inviting entryway, I incorporated traditional elements such as a gold baroque frame with Christmas prints from CollectionPrints.com, twinkle lights, and a whimsical terrarium display featuring a woodsy winter scene with deer, fake snow, and bottle brush trees. The combination of classic and whimsical elements created a charming and inviting atmosphere that welcomed guests with a festive spirit.
