ITS FINALLY OCTOBER! Aside from Christmas (obviously) I put my 110% into Halloween. From decorating to baking and movie marathons to dressing up Halloween is incorporated in them all. With that being said this month I am sharing two halloween costume ideas each week leading up to October 31st.

This weeks theme is TV SHOW CHARACTERS and I picked none other than the infamous Rachel Green from Friends and Serena Van der Woodsen from Gossip Girl. I picked these two iconic characters because not only were they my favorite characters during the airing of the shows but they represent a strong independent women. These costumes were very easy to put together and I guarantee you will have half of the pieces hangin in your closet somewhere. I think I only spent about $15 dollars for both costumes combined. See below how I came up with the look and try and recreate them yourselves!

Happy Halloween!

RACHEL GREEN – Friends Tv Show

This look was so easy and I bet you could recreate with things you already have in your closet. I simply found a black dress, stocking, heels and a white apron. For props I printed out the logo of the “Central Perk” coffee shop which Rachel Greens character is none for working at during the show and pinned it to my apron (this is a very inexpensive alternative instead of buying the apron online). Another prop I used which I feel completes the look is holding a coffee pot which her jobs as a waitress on the show she is seen many times holding one so I thought it would only be fitting to include it.

If you don’t want to make your own apron like I did here are some places to buy them – option 1, option 2

This was another easy look to throw together! I actually had a green plaid/tartan skirt from a previous costume years ago (but if you don’t I linked some inexpensive ones below). Then just grab a black tie (odds are your brother or Dad will have one) and a white button down shirt. In Gossip Girl, Serena is known as the rule breaker so instead of going to school all polished and neat – I left my shirt untucked and messy which is the mood she conveys throughout the show. If you want to go that extra mile for your IG photo I used props like fashion books and a designer handbag/book bag to complete look.

I love these TV shows and so it was really fun to be creative and put together looks that I think best resembled my favorite characters. I suggest you pick your favorite TV show characters and create looks/costumes you think they’d wear! Let me know if you try my costumes out in the comment section below.

Stay tuned for next weeks round of Halloween Costume Ideas because its DISNEY VILLAINS!
