SHOP MY LOOK

The smell of a dark roast welcoming you at the door, the sound of soft house music playing in the background and the low voice of customers ordering their drinks is all around. Every city has them, and Mobile is no exception. I’m talking coffee, coffee, coffee! I love going to coffee shops for my weekly boost of caffeine or to sit, relax and get work done on my laptop.

The city of Mobile has been making tremendous moves to grow the local economy and coffee shops definitely helps in that area. Known for being quite trendy, coffee shops make for good local business and community togetherness. I always see a diverse group in our local coffee shops like college students, to working moms etc. It’s always nice to find a place where everyone can go and relax with a cup of coffee. Therefore, below is a list of my favorite coffee spots in my city.

1. Chaleur Method Brew + Espresso:

Location: 1714 Dauphin St, Mobile, AL 36604

This is at the top of my list because it’s my favorite little French inspired place for a French settled city. It’s walking/biking distance to all the homes in the area so odds are if you live close by it’s the perfect excuse to go for a walk. Aside from their delicious lattes the coolest thing about this coffee shop perhaps is their gigantic periodic table on the wall behind their coffee making equipment. It’s such a cool décor piece that’s very unexpected in a coffee shop. I also love how they pulled together a lot of eclectic antique furniture to make the space. It is quite cozy, and I always get the sweetened bourbon aged vanilla latte when I stop in. Click here to view.

2. Serda’s Coffee Company:

Location:3 S Royal St., Mobile, AL 36602

Starting as a quaint little coffee shop in Costa Rica, Serda’s came over to the Mobile area after so many tourists begged for it to be closer to home. If you’re craving ice cream and coffee all at once, this is the place to come! Serda’s not only serves some pretty delicious arabica coffee from around the world but they also have a big selection of gelato ready to serve. Located in the heart of downtown Mobile it’s the perfect place for a pick-me-up and you won’t have to fight for a seat when you need to work. I always get a bite of the banana fudge praline gelato and the frozen vanilla and honey cappuccino. Click here to view.

3. Carpe Diem Coffee & Tea Co:

Location:4072 Old Shell Rd, Mobile, AL 36608

Carpe Diem is perhaps the cutest mom and pop coffee house and such a hidden gem in Mobile. I have come here a few times to work on blog posts and they have a wonderful cozy atmosphere. It does have a few college students in there at times since its close to the Spring Hill campus but that doesn’t beat their yummy nitro cold brew coffee or tiramisu! PS: they also have a cute collection of souvenirs and mugs.Click here to view.

4. Yellowhammer Coffee:

Location:3249 Dauphin St., Mobile, AL 36604

Once you visit the Yellowhammer Coffee food truck or storefront you will see what all the hype is about with their incredible cup of java. It’s Mobile’s first mobile coffee and espresso bar! The people are great, and the coffee is delicious. I tried the butter pecan lattethe last time I was there! Click here to view.

5. Soul Caffeine:

Location:2004 US HWY 98 Ste. B, Daphne, AL 36526

Although this coffee shop isn’t in Mobile, it’s just a short drive across the bay in Daphne, Alabama. I recently just started going here thanks to the girls at my job who introduced me to it. It’s honestly so good I think everyone in my office loves it and we go at least once a week. My favorite thing to get is the signature hot butterbeer latte! If you know me, you know I love all things Harry Potter (which is where butterbeer is from) so this signature drink being on the menu and actually tasting delicious sold me! Click here to view.

6. NOVA Espresso:

Location: 306 Saint Anthony St., Mobile, AL 36603

Relatively new to town, NOVA Espresso is quite possibly the cutest coffee shop we have. It has an urban, modern and trendy vibe to it and its located right on the edge of downtown Mobile. I love their style and fun mural wall outside to snap an instagram pic of too. My favorite thing on the menu would be their dirty chai tea latte. I love a good chai tea latte and NOVA’s might be the best! Click here to view
