4 Fall Foliage Places to Visit in the U.S.

1. Colorado

Whether you go for the aspen trees or Rocky Mountains, Colorado is gorgeous during the fall. Also, if you’re in the Denver area it’s the perfect time of year to try all their local coffee shops! Below are some things you could do.

• Hike the trails at Rail Ridge Road– Rocky Mountain Natl Park.
• Check out Maroon Bells which is famous for its vivid fall colors.
• Have a cup of coffee at Sessions Coffee (try the Almond Milk Chai) or the Black Eye Coffee Shop (try the sweet cocoa mocha).

2. Asheville, NC

Since North Carolina is a bit further south than most fall foliage places in the north the leaves don’t start turning colors as quickly. Which only means you can get your fall fix longer lasting in the season. And for me (living in the south) it’s closer to home! Below are some things you could do.

• Drive along the Blue Ridge Parkway and gaze at the breathtaking Mountain views.
• Tour the Biltmore House
• Walk downtown and look through all the shops
• Go apple picking at the Apple Farm Orchards

3. Vermont

There’s nothing quite like fall in New England. Vermont is nothing short of magical with a burst of fall colors everywhere! With so many different small towns to drive though and apple orchards to pick from this is a wonderful fall foliage destination. Below are some things to do.

• Visit Lake Champlain on a short & inexpensive day cruise, click here.
• More Apple Picking at the Shelburne Orchards (the cutest old farm).
• Walk through the streets of Woodstock 
• Ride a gondola in the Stowe Mountains  (perhaps the prettiest mountain views)

4. NYC: Sleepy Hollow

Whether you’re going into the city to see the fall foliage or upstate New York, you will not be disappointed. Central Park is absolutely gorgeous in the fall with its array of colors and leaves on the ground. However, the town of Sleepy Hollow is the place to be for not only fall foliage but the best fall activities. After all, haven’t you seen the halloween movie Sleepy Hollow? Below are some things you could do.

• Walk through central park and see the mall (the long tree path pictured below), bethesda terrace, bow bridge and Loeb Boathouse.
• Take a drive to Sleepy Hollow and explore the town.
